WINTER FAERIE

In the every day humdrum world, humans believe that it is the hot rays of the sun that germinates seeds or coaxes flower roots to come alive again. Actually it is the kiss of the Winter Faerie that keeps seeds or roots from freezing through the dark winter months.

Amid the snow or frost, she glides gently through the garden. Her wings and hair symbolize the beauty of Autumn, which is actually a warning of the winter months to come. Her dress of white flowers blends in and is as soft and elegant as snow flakes. Her essence is a musky promise that life will go on.

The only time that a Winter Faerie may be seen by humans eyes is at noon on a cold, very clear January day. More sightings have been reported on January 6th and 7th than any other days.

Perched upon a dry flower stalk or branch, she shines with an inner light that can warm and thaw an entire garden.
