BUTTERFLY FAERIE
With her elegant wings larger than those of most of her kind, this delicate being if seen by humans, is often mistaken for one of the butterflies that she so carefully tends in the garden. She is a shepherdess for the fragile-winged creatures and protects them from danger.
Whenever a chrysalis begins to open, she knows it and is there immediately. It is her gentle hands and her warm breath that caresses each wet new butterflies wings until they are dry.
A thoughtful guardian, she is also a playful one and sometimes tickles them until their wings tremble.
Butterflies tend to be willful, but because of their love for her, they usually do what they are told.
At a moments notice, a butterfly faerie can fold up her wings and blend into any flower to avoid being seen or like a caterpillar she can spin a silken girdle and suspend herself from leaves or twigs to resemble a cocoon.
